Sid Meier’s Civilization VI New Trailer Covers Ancient Sumeria

Sid Meier’s Civilization VI trailer recently revealed a new playable leader in the upcoming game. Like in most trailers for the simulation game, we get to see the leader, who is Gilgamesh, lead the ancient Sumerians. Sid Meier’s Civilization VI is set to come out for PC on October 21st.

Sid Meier’s Civilization recently updated its YouTube channel to reflect a new playable leader that will be in Civilization VI. The game by 2K Games and Firaxis contains a lot of world leaders, mostly popular leaders, which this time we get Gilgamesh. According to the Epic of Gilgamesh he is said to have ruled over Sumerian city of Uruk back in ancient times.

When playing as another faction it is said that you should team up with this nation to further your growth and development of resources. In addition, Gilgamesh is said to be a good leader in the game, who wields strong and fast units. Although, if you are feeling lucky, you don’t have to ally with the nation if you don’t want to.

As for the Sumeria’s special ability it is called Epic Quest. This move makes every outpost captured by your units produce a new tribal village. The unique for this nation includes the War Cart, which is noted to be a powerful early-game unit that transcends well into late-game. Ignoring all effects from Spearman and units made to destroy Cavalry, the War Cart unit also moves a lot faster in clear open terrain.

The unique improvement that the newly introduced nation hones is the Ziggurat. This structure provides both science and culture research when built near a river, but cannot be built on mountains.

Sid Meier’s Civilization VI is set to hit PC on October 21st. For more information on ancient Sumeria you can watch the latest trailer, as seen below.
