Titanfall 2 PC Minimum Specs Requires GTX 660, AMD 7850

Have plans on getting Titanfall 2 for PC? Well, you better have a fairly high-end rig in your possession because Respawn Entertainment released the minimum, recommended and ultra specifications for PC gamers.

The specs went live over on the official Titanfall 2 website. The minimum specs require some fairly beefy gear because according to Respawn Entertainment, the minimum specs are geared toward playing the game at 900p and 60fps.

What about those playing at less than half the resolution and only 30fps? Well, they don’t say what those minimum specifications would require because they’re busy trying to pad the current specs to make it seem as if PC gamers will need muscle-car quality hardware to keep pace with the Xbox One and PS4; even though realistically that couldn’t be further from the truth.

According to Respawn…

“ In the past minimum specs were literally the minimum bar to launch the game – your experience once in the game was probably not going to be ideal. Our goal for minimum PC specs on Titanfall 2 is that you can play at a 1600×900 resolution with most details turned on and average around 60fps. We strongly believe that if you at least match the posted requirements you should have an excellent visual and gameplay experience playing the game, so don’t be alarmed if you boot it up and don’t need to turn all the settings to Low for playable framerates – our artists would actually like if you could see their work!”

So the next common question is: what happens if you don’t meet the minimum specs? Well, you’ll only be able to play at something under 900p and less than 60fps unless you turn off and turn down most of the graphics options. The minimum specs are actually for playing the game on the medium settings in HD.

You might even be able to tough it out with a GTX 460 if you can squeeze the graphics settings down to their lowest configurations.

The recommended specs are for 1080p at 60fps and the ultra specs are for 4K gaming at 60fps.

To their credit, Respawn actually managed to get the game running above 60fps at 4K on a GTX 1060. That’s some optimization wizardry right there.

They have a lot of the fancy graphics tech introduced after engines like Unity 5 and Unreal Engine 4 became industry standards, that includes PBR, fully dynamic directional lighting, fully dynamic real-time shadows, and the latest in supersampled anti-aliasing. They also tease new physics properties but don’t go into too much detail as to what new features that entails.

You can look for Titanfall 2 to go live this October for the Xbox One, PS4 and PC. For more info feel free to visit the official website.
