Developers Rlty Chk released their virtual reality title Thirst VR onto Steam back on August 7th. The game is only available as an Early Access title and will continue to be moving through the Early Access phase until they can iron the game’s performance and playability out to a point where they feel meets their quality standards.
In a blog update over on the official Rlty Chk website they announced that they’ve been listening to feedback and taking in the constructive criticism in order to improve Thirst VR. They decided to fix the parts that were deemed a “mess” by some users and also pushed through with the support of the community to optimize the gameplay for better performance.
The behind-the-curtain updates and improvements were also complimented with new gameplay features, including a brand new map to play on, all new weapons to collect (including an RPG) and new enemies to battle against. The new “Boom Time!” feature was also implemented and can be viewed in the trailer below.
This is a heartening thing to see; developers taking constructive feedback and applying it to the game and improving the title as they move toward a full release for VR headsets such as the Oculus Rift and the HTC Vive.
In a age where some developers lock down the forums, claim “harassment” and take the bait from some annoying members of the community who troll hard, any time a developer wades through the crap and works with the community to fix up their game, it gives us all a little bit of extra hope for the future.
You can learn more about Thirst VR by visiting the official website, or if you want to pick up a copy of the VR rail-shooter, you can do so by paying a kind visit to the Steam store page. Thirst VR is still in Early Access and the developers are working tirelessly toward a full release and a graduation from Early Access.
