Dead Age Launches On Steam With Tactical Turn-Based Combat

Silent Age recently released their zombie survival game, Dead Age, onto the Steam store. The game sees players taking on the role of survivors attempting to traverse through the zombie apocalypse.

Featuring rogue-like gameplay that the developers have compared to FTL, the real standout feature for Dead Age lies in its turn-based combat where players will control a handful of survivors in battle.

Like most rogue-like games, death in combat means it’s permanent. So you’ll have to think tactically and think smart about who you bring into battle and how you evolve their skills. Like most other RPGs, each of your members can specialize in a field to make them more efficient while out and about, scavenging supplies and fighting hard to keep food replenished. You can get a look at what the gameplay is like with the trailer below.

The game looks pretty good and a lot of gamers have fallen in love with it. One of the key selling points is that the decisions you make throughout Dead Age all culminate into one of six different endings.

Part of the charm of the game is that the more survivors you collect the more supplies you’ll all burn through, thus making it difficult to survive. You can either choose to let some survivors die to stock up on food or try to help as many people as possible.

Various gamers have praised Silent Age for the survivor stories, which play out in comic book vignettes. Some gamers have complained that the game gets repetitive, fighting zombies, scavenging for supplies and battling evil bandits, but a majority seem to enjoy the title.

Dead Age is currently available for $14.99 and is 10% off for the first week of being on sale. You can learn more about the game by hitting up the Steam store page,
