Rock ‘N Racing Off Road DX Now Available On PS4

After releasing on the Xbox One back in October of 2015, a year later and EnjoyUp Games and Unfinished Pixel’s Rock ‘N Racing Off Road DX has become available for the PlayStation 4.

The game is an instant throwback to the classic isometric Off Road racing games from way back in the day. They were so difficult and so fun to play back then, but it was hard to put the controller down once you figured out the controls and understood how to take the turns and leap into first place by taking the jumps like a champ.

Unfinished Pixel wanted to bring that age-old intensity and classic feeling of competitive racing action to the forefront of today’s generation of gaming with Rock ‘N Racing Off Road DX for the PS4. It’s like a the next step up from the original Off Road.

You can see what the gameplay is like with the trailer below.

The game features a diverse selection of vehicles and tracks to choose from, including classic figure eights and more complex designs complete with jumps, trashes, bumps and shunts.

There’s a classic single-player mode along with multiplayer options so you can play four-player competitive modes locally. Unfortunately online multiplayer didn’t make the cut.

24 tracks with day and night racing, physics-based collisions and track debris, along with new-age features such as dynamic 3D lighting and shadow effects, and you have yourself a tiny little retro gem for eighth gen gaming.

There are a lot of mixed reviews for Rock ‘N Racing Off Road DX. There’s a stark divide as a lot of gamers aren’t familiar with the tricky isometric controls featured in the original Off Road games, and so they say the handling is terrible. Those who enjoy the classic arcade racer don’t mind the loose handling with 360 turning. Basically, it’s kind of a love it or hate it situation.

However, if you want to check it out you can do so for the PS4, Xbox One or the Wii U. The game launched for only $7.99.
