Shattered: Tale Of The Forgotten King Releases New Video As Kickstarter Winds Down

With their Kickstarter campaign winding down, executive producer and creative director Maxime Rene from Redlock Studio talked gamers through the newest developer diary for Shattered: Tale of the Forgotten King.

The game is due out for the PC, PS4 and Xbox One, and the new gameplay video gives gamers a look at what’s to come from the upcoming title.

The four minute video covers a the Hypnos universe as well as some of the gameplay mechanics. It starts by explaining that players will travel to and through various lands using the war gates in Limbo. It’s revealed that players will venture through deserts, desolate landscapes, ancient cities and mammoth fortresses. You can get a look at the game below.

The narrator throughout the game will be Y’aak the Whisperer. He’ll also be your companion throughout the title, informing you about what’s going on.

Gameplay in Shattered is a mixture of hack-and-slash action, exploration and platforming. You’ll be able to utilize double jumping, dashing and running in order to get through the platforming challenges.

Later levels in the game will unlock the ability to wall-run, wall-jump and teleportation. The game will feature 3D platforming, 2D platforming and 2.5D platforming.

Combat in the game will be present in a big way, as players will need to defeat 12 major bosses in the game.

It’s kind of neat because they mention that there will be different ways to defeat each of the bosses in the game, including being able to utilize their weaknesses by exploring and examining the battle arenas. Of course, you can always do it the old fashioned way and just use reflexes and skills like a Dark Souls alumni and grind it out.

The new gameplay video has arrived with just seven days left on the team’s Kickstarter project. They’re still $22,000 out from their goal, and while it’s not impossible for them to make it… it’s looking slim.
