Fate/Extella: The Umbral Star Launches January 17th On PS4, PS Vita

XSeed Games announced recently that Fate/Extella: The Umbral Star will arrive on the PlayStation Vita and PlayStation 4 in North America starting January 17th, 2017.

There’s a special Noble Phantasm Edition that comes with a 7.5” by 6.3” hahrdcore art book featuring various characters and environments, along with story details accompanying those characters with high quality artwork. The special edition also lobs various collectible cards, a cloth poster and a custom collectible box.

XSeed is also throwing in pre-order incentives, such as including free desktop themes and a free shackled bride DLC outfit. They also gave gamers a look at what they can expect from the English rendition of Fate/Extella: The Umbral Star with the launch trailer below.

The game is classic Marvelous.

A fast-paced, hack-and-slash fantasy adventure featuring some of the recurring characters from the other Fate series, including Fate/Extra, Fate/Stay Night and Fate/Zero.

Players will take on the roles of three different heroine Servants as they battle through hordes of enemies in order to fulfill their destiny and honor their master’s wishes. The interesting thing here is that the gameplay is similar to Marvelous’ other Senran Kagura series, insofar that it’s a thousand-army style setup where players will hack and slash their way through hordes of countless enemies in order to reach the boss.

You can look to get your hands on the game in the West for the PlayStation Vita for $39.99 digitally or physically for the game while the special edition on the Vita will be available for $59.99. The PS4 version of Fate/Extella: The Umbral Star will carry a $49.99 price tag both for the physical or digital editions but you’ll have to dole out $69.99 for the Noble Phantasm Edition. For more information and details on each version you can visit the official Fate/Extella website.
