Nitroplus Blasterz: Heroines Infinite Duel, Anime Fighter Lands On Steam

Examu’s Nitroplus Blasterz: Heroines Infinite Duel is now available on Steam for $29.99. It’s been a long time in the making but the game has finally battled its way from the PlayStation family to the PC gaming space thanks to XSeed Games.

The new anime-inspired fighter literally features popular anime and manga characters brought to life in a 2D, side-scrolling fighting game. The game is based on crossover appeal, featuring fighters from Arcana Heart the Super Sonico brand, the femme fatales from the Nitroplus line, as well as a few other notable characters from visual novels and anime.

In addition to arriving on PC, they’ve also released all of the previously released DLC that was on the PlayStation systems as part of the core package, for free. This includes characters from Arcana Hearts and Senran Kagura.

As for the game itself, it’s design to be a casual pick-up-and-play fighter with a robust roster of female fighters. It’s one of those games that easily passes the Bechdel Test with flying colors.

In addition to standard special moves, combos and supers, there’s also the added cinematic cut-ins to outline the attacks that characters are doing, fusing a mix of anime cinematics with in-game content.

There’s also included local multiplayer, online multiplayer, Steam Cloud support, leaderboards, trading cards and controller support.

The general consensus from the PC gaming community is that the game does right by the characters it represents and is a worthwhile addition to the Steam library.

Some people did complain about the super specials in the game, saying that they were too powerful and that the call-ins that players can use to help aid them during battle sort of do their own thing instead of have any sort of controllable functionality. Nevertheless, most of everyone else really enjoyed what they dubbed “Waifu Wars”.
