Payday 2 Receives Scarface DLC With A Healthy Nod To Commando

Overkill Software dropped a new DLC pack for Payday 2, this time featuring Tony Montana’s mansion from the movie Scarface. This sees players heading to the iconic mansion in order to carry out a hit on the Sosa Cartel’s boss.

The mission sees players having secondary objectives that include looting the mansion of all its goodies and getting out alive. Along the way you’ll be required to “trash” the mansion in order to draw out the drug boss.

The mission can be played either stealthily or as an all-out, guns-a-blazin’ shooting fest, just like in Arnold Schwarzenegger’s 1985 hit, Commando.

And speaking of Commando…. Overkill included the quad-rocket launcher that Arnold used at the end of the film to wreck the base of his arch-nemesis like the one man army that he was.

There’s actually a short two minute trailer that highlights the story behind this 37th piece of DLC for Payday 2, as well as gives you a look at the weapons and the new mansion map in the game. Check it out below.

I haven’t played Payday 2 in ages, but it’s cool to see the game is still being updated. It’s also good that they got rid of the microtransaction gambling gimmick. That nonsense will destroy a company’s credibility faster than the mainstream media can destroy attempts to investigate PizzaGate.

Anyway, not everyone is in love with the new DLC because some are claiming that the enemy AI spawn right on top of players once the stealth portion has failed, and others complained that the objectives were kind of boring. Everyone seems to agree that the design of the map is intricate and gorgeous, though.

You can check out the Scarface DLC pack for Payday 2 by visiting the Steam store page. The pack is available for $6.99.
