Resident Evil 7 Data Leaks Reveal Multiple Endings, Weapon List

Data miners peeled back the layers of content in Resident Evil 7 to give gamers a few hints at what they can expect from Capcom’s upcoming first-person, horror shooter. There’s some obvious spoilers ahead, so if you care about the game and the story… don’t read any further!

Over on the Resident Evil sub-Reddit data miners dumped some info on what they uncovered from the PC version of the Resident Evil 7 demo. In one of the threads they reveal that a certain Wesker might be returning during the last boss fight. According to the data strings, a certain “Albert” will be involved with the final boss fight. They don’t mention if this means it’s Albert Wesker or a different Albert.

The specific string is “LastBossAlbert”. So players are under the impression it’s referring to Albert Wesker. Some of the strings also indicate that you can get Albert’s handgun upon successfully defeating the boss, and Albert will also have access to a shotgun. Some of the strings also point out if Albert is doing damage and what Albert’s damage count is, suggesting that the character may actually be there to aid the main character fight the boss.

The data strings also revealed that Resident Evil 7 will have multiple endings depending on the choices you make throughout the game. You’ll be able to have various endings related to a “bad” ending or a “true” ending involving a “daughter”. And there’s some choice between “Mia” and “Zoe”, whatever that means.

A separate thread on Reddit listed all of the usable weapons and items in the game, including:

  • chainsaw
  • scissors
  • knife
  • shotgun
  • handgun
  • grenade launcher
  • burner
  • candle
  • lighter
  • timebomb
  • liquidbomb
  • stimulant
  • serum

Now keep in mind that this is hex data from the demo’s executable, which means it’s from an older build and some of these items may or may not make the final cut. There could also be more weapons featured in the game that was not baked into the demo build. We don’t know.

What we do know is that Resident Evil 7 seems to be shaping up to be more than just a standard horror-survival romp, and at least there will be a lot of multiple choices made available in the game for players to experiment with and explore when the game launches on January 24th for PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
