Those who are excited about Ys Net’s development for Shenmue III will be pleased to find out some progress has been going on recently for the sequel to Shenmue II. The devs detailed information regarding the development process that is going into the game and what folks can expect from the upcoming title.
Right now, Shenmue III is still shaping up slowly, and from the sounds of the development it has some time to go before shipping out to folks. In the meantime, though, the devs released some new information going over the platforms the game will be on, which include PS4 and PC, and how you will be able to pre-order Shenmue III.
“There have been many requests for the PC version pre-order option during the Slacker Backer Campaign, and now that agreements by all affiliated parties have been finalized, Shenmue.link is accepting Shenmue III PC version pre-orders as of today. As always, sales from the PC version will also help towards the Stretch Goals.”
The next segment that the devs elaborate on is the development and other various things that make a game work. This includes motion capture, voice testing and much more…
“R&D for various game elements is on course as the development team shifts its focus towards production. Main game scenarios are nearing completion, motion capture tests are well under way, and voicing tests with the cast have begun. Yu-san and the production staff are happy to say they are enjoying the work as they continue to diligently make progress on the mini-games, events, and battles.”
According to Yu Suzuki, he noted that the progress for Shenmue III is taking up quite a bit of his time and that he is dedicated to working on the game both day and night.
“I have been absorbed in developing the game and I stay in the studio all night time to time. My life is all about Shenmue day and night.”
But that’s not all, the team released some images or screenshots showing the progress so far for the game (which the header image is a screenshot, too).
Backer surveys are currently set for the Summer of 2017. While we wait for more information that will likely follow the backer surveys, you can head on over to shenmue.link/post to read the full story.
