It was teased, taunted, tantalized and trotted out well ahead of an official announcement, but the Steam Winter Sale is now finally underway, and will stay underway up until January 2nd, 2017.

Hints, rumors and pre-sale announcements let everyone know that the Steam Winter Sale was coming December 22nd, as a special way to help gamers grab some last minute goodies for themselves or give their loved ones something special as a gift.

A bunch of different games are currently discounted, ranging from old classics like Payday 2 taking a 75% off price cut, to classic franchises like DOOM, which are discounted between 40% off and 67% off.

Sleeper hits like Cities: Skylines is marked down by 75% off so you can get for only $7.49. And the Just Cause franchise is also marked down by 75% off, which could help a lot given the lukewarm sales of the third game. The recent beta release of the JC3 MP mod should help tempt a lot of gamers into giving Just Cause 3 a try, and might even help bolster the sales for the title after the slow start it received when it launched last year.

Recognized franchises like Baldur’s Gate and Total War are also discounted, along with newcomers like The Division, which is currently marked down by 50% off.

There’s a wide variety of games for just about every kind of gamer, filling every kind of niche, discounted to suit the integrity of your wallet’s girth.
