Call Of Cthulhu New Trailer Explores The “Depths Of Madness”

Call of Cthulhu, the Lovecraftian inspired game, has a new trailer that Focus Home Interactive published, which explores another side of Cyanide Studios’ upcoming game. Entitled “Depths of Madness” the new trailer follows Private Detective Edward Pierce and his sanity. Call of Cthulhu is set to release for PC, PS4 and Xbox One in 2017.

Although I prefer themes set in an H.R Geiger-like realm (Scorn to be specific) over Lovecraft’s work, I think that the latter still stands and works well when executed correctly. I’m not sure how this iteration of Call of Cthulhu will be on release, but we do get yet another look at the game thanks to a new trailer.

According to the description for the video it reads that the game is an RPG that mixes investigative work together. Making the mix more complex the game will also blend psychological horror elements coupled with stealth mechanics. The game is also said to take place in a “deeply immersive world” that holds an oppressive atmosphere set in Darkwater Island, Boston.

The official description explains some of the trailer and the overall story present in the game, which is up for you to read.

A Private Detective, Edward Pierce is on a mission to find the truth behind the death of an acclaimed artist and her family on a backwater island. Pierce is used to trusting his instincts, but with whale mutilations and disappearing bodies, this is only the beginning as reality becomes skewed. As your investigation leads you closer to the sphere of influence of the Great Dreamer, you will start to doubt everything you see. You will have to find balance between your own sanity, and your determination in finding out what lurks in the shadows – as they say that madness is the only way that can bring you to the truth.

Said to be on a mission to find the cause behind the death of an acclaimed artist and her family, the player will soon uncover something while hunting for the truth.

The new trailer that comes in by Focus Home Interactive sits below.

I’m really curious as to how this game will play out, I hope it’s not awkward or weird when in play, but only time will tell how the game will be when it rolls out for PC, PS4 and Xbox One sometime this year.
