Netherrealm Studios creative director Ed Boon announced on Twitter today that Injustice 2 will release on Xbox One and PS4 starting May 16th, 2017 later this year just before summer gets underway.

This comes shortly after Boon denied that Injustice 2 would be launching on March 28th, 2017 for the Xbox One and PS4 after Microsoft posted up a release date chart for their digital games on demand service and revealed various release dates for various games. Suffice it to say, the games that did not already have their release dates revealed had misprints for their dates, including Injustice 2 and Mass Effect: Andromeda, the latter of which is scheduled to launch on March 21st, 2017.
Sadly there’s still no mention or love being shown to the Glorious PC Master Race. Warner Bros., had a falling out with the PC gaming community back in 2015 when they had a series of high-profile games launch in an unplayable state on PC, due to poor optimizations from the port house(s) and some political shenanigans between AMD and Nvidia when it came to Nvidia’s GameWorks.
In the end, gamers caught the rough end of the stick and pelted Warner Bros., all throughout the remainder of 2015 for making piss poor decisions and not heeding the advice of the QA team in delaying games like Batman: Arkham Knight so it could run in tip-top shape on PC.
Warner Bros., opted not to release future DLC and balance patches for Mortal Kombat X on PC for the longest, and only after many months did they finally give PC gamers some proper patches. When announcing Injustice 2 they purposefully only announced it for the Xbox One and PS4, leaving out PC and forcing the PCMR to wonder if they would ever receive the game at all?
Well, we won’t know for sure until closer to the launch date, but in the meantime expect more character reveals and updates to the graphics, sort of like how they gave the female fighters a surgical facelift and overhauled their fugliness.
