Pirates Of The Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales Super Bowl Trailer Features Orlando Bloom

During the Super Bowl LI this past Sunday, Disney unleashed a new trailer for the upcoming Johnny Depp flick, Pirates of the Caribbean 5: Pirate’s Life. The trailer is three minutes long and starts with a ghastly bird that eventually leads into a montage featuring Johnny Cash.

Javier Bardem seems absolutely perfect in the role as a watery, ghostly, not-quite-dead pirate.

The trailer reveals a couple of interesting tidbits, though, including what looks to be Orlando Bloom making a return as Will. Obviously Johnny Depp is back in action. You can check out the trailer below courtesy of JoBlo.

And was that Kiera Knightly running ashore in her britches? I couldn’t quite tell but it almost looked like her.

I imagine this is just another paycheck for Depp, but if some of the original stars make a proper return from the first trilogy, then maybe it might not be so bad after all.

It’s odd how the entire series has revolved around Sparrow seemingly escaping death while putting others in harm’s way, leading him to become the number one target for some of the most bizarre, undead pirates ever put to film.

Anyway, the movie looks intriguing. There are some genuinely cool pirate ship scenes that look like they’ll be a blast to watch, especially with that unfolding ship that seems to use the front bow as a whip against other ships. It’s weird but looks cool all at the same time.

The second trailer for Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales wasn’t quite as mysterious or story-oriented as the first trailer, but it still gets the point across. We also see a little bit less of Javier Bardem this time around, but I’m sure we’ll get to see plenty of him in the actual movie itself.

Anyways, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales is due for release on Memorial Day, which lands on May 29th this spring.
