They picked up the news from a recent interview that producer Kenichiro Takaki had with Gamer News Japan during a pre-launch experience held in Japan.
Takaki explained that the game has gone gold, or rather that the “master” disc has been completed and that there is no postponement for release. This means that development is done and complete and the gold master disc is being shipped off for manufacturing and distribution across retailers in Japan.
They also briefly talk about how Senran Kagura: Peach Beach Splash is a rather creative divergence from the typical hack-and-slash Senran Kagura games that usually fit within the beat-’em-up genre. Gamer News Japan was curious about this change and Takaki-san explained that he too was curious how people would react to the series taking on a third-person shooter guise and what that might mean for the future of the Senran Kagura franchise. He’s hoping that people will be excited enough to check it out and hopefully offer them additional opportunities to expand and explore new avenues with the series.
According to Gematsu, to help lure gamers further into the new Senran Kagura: Estival Versus, crossover DLC with Koei Tecmo’s Dead or Alive series, featuring Ayane was released, along with Ryofu from Ikkitousen.
There’s no release date set for a Western release of the third-person, water park shooter, but previous reports have indicated that Marvelous does plan on bringing the game over to Asian and Western markets. Marvelous and XSeed have also been a few of the companies not afraid to release their games outside of Japan that contains risque or lewd content. Unlike Koei Tecmo, Marvelous is willing to weather the storm of SJWs.
