Stardew Valley: Collector’s Edition Hits Retail For PS4, Xbox One On April 11th

ConcernedApe’s super smash hit, Stardew Valley: Collector’s Edition, will make its way to retail for the Xbox One and PS4 April 11th. The game will be distributed by 505 Games and in part by Chucklefish Studios.

The company made the announcement about the retail version with a new three minute trailer, showcasing the Harvest Moon spiritual successor that grabbed an incomparably large audience when it launched on Steam early last year. You can check out the trailer below.

You know what the best part about the Stardew Valley trailer is? That in the comment section there are just lots of people begging for the game to be released on the Nintendo Switch.

I honestly think that this game has a huge potential to be a big seller on Nintendo’s platform because it literally hits that perfect casual demographic who want to play mobile-style games on a high-end gaming platform that isn’t another Farmville or clicker game from a cash-shop hungry microtransaction-focused, wallet-raping publisher.

The trailer itself takes its time in getting across what sort of gameplay and features Stardew Valley has. They spend the first half minute just setting up the premise and showcasing some of the things that you can do in the game.

Later on in the trailer we begin to see how you can visit towns, grow your herd, fall in love, help out the townsfolk, complete quests and scavenge dungeons while collecting ore and defeating enemies.

There’s a little bit of something for everyone in Stardew Valley.

New to the collector’s edition is the Pelican Town Map, a guide book, and a download code for the official Stardew Valley soundtrack. And hopefully Chucklefish will find a way to make gobs of money by ensuring that the game launches as soon as possible on the Nintendo Switch.
