MadMind Studios released some new trailers for the Unreal Engine 4-powered horror game, Agony.
The upcoming game is a terrifying trip through the bowels of hell, as players will encounter demonic imagery from top to bottom, plenty of horror-torture and the very rendering of a nightmare come to life… virtual life.
The first trailer is a series of vignettes showing off the environments and giving gamers an idea of what the scenarios will be like and what they’ll experience while searching for the red queen. You can check out the first trailer below.
I can’t really make heads or tails of the player’s role in the game, other than that they will be killing, they will be flaying flesh and they will be gazing upon demon boobs… a lot.
We haven’t seen much of the gameplay, but that’s why Madmind tossed up a second video featuring said gameplay.
The second video focuses on the possession of a powerful demon in an attempt to reach the Red Goddess. You can check out the burning, killing, and torture in the video below. I suppose it should go without saying that it’s not safe for work.
We see the player character in a field of pain and torment, where people burn and suffer.
In one segment the player rips out the eye of a tortured soul, impales the back of another, and attempts to dodge larger, more dangerous demons.
The developers explain in a comment post that in order to possess demons players need to satisfy her primal urges, writing…
“In this footage, protagonist controls one of the simple-minded demons called Onoskelis.
She is a very powerful beast, but in order to control it, player will need to satify her primal urges, by killing other beings or eating still beating hearts and fresh meat. Otherwise, she will push you out from her mind. “
They further explain that there needs to be a necessary level of blood flow in order to keep the demon at bay and to control its mind. Players will have to make these kind of strategic decisions as they venture throughout the game.
Agony is due out in the second quarter of 2017 this year, and is scheduled to release for PC, PS4 and Xbox One. You can add the game to your wishlist by visiting the Steam store page.
