Games With Gold For March Includes Borderlands 2, Evolve, Layers of Fear

While Sony feeds their ponies the hairy grub mold from the backside of a fly-ridden mule, Microsoft is wining and dining their bots with fuel fit for melting steel beams. PlayStation gamers are complaining about the PS Vita and PS4 offerings for the PS Plus free games for March, where-as Xbox gamers are nodding in approval at what Microsoft is offering their Xbox 360 and Xbox One owners.

Express quickly listed the games available for the Games With Gold program for March, 2017, and it includes:

  • Layers of Fear: Available from March 1-31 on Xbox One
  • Evolve Ultimate Edition: Available from March 16-April 15 on Xbox One
  • Borderlands 2: Available from March 1-15 on Xbox 360 & Xbox One
  • Heavy Weapon: Available from March 16-31 on Xbox 360 & Xbox One

Apart from Heavy Weapon, everything else seems pretty high-end. I mean, of course, Evolve is still dead on arrival just like Taylor Kitsch’s Hollywood acting career, but you have to give props to 2K Games and Turtle Rock for trying.

Even though Evolve just couldn’t seem to get sales going like James Edwards couldn’t keep his caucus from dipping into the wrong holes… of politics, the Games With Gold program continues to offer gamers an opportunity to experience Evolve as one last hurray for the game.

Throwing Borderlands 2 back into the fold is a smart move, though. For those who missed the Borderlands: The Handsome Collection from a while back, they’ll have an opportunity this month to get the vanilla version of the second game.

Last but not least is the underrated horror gem known as Layers of Fear. This game is a real mind trip, and it’s good that Microsoft is giving it just a bit of leverage and visibility through the Games With Gold offerings, because anyone who enjoys light puzzles and a deeply woven story told through guesswork narrative offerings and haunting atmosphere will likely enjoy Bloober Team’s Layers of Fear.

If Microsoft keeps this up, they’ll be raising those Xbox Live subscription numbers faster than people will be dropping from PSN.
