Legend of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild – How To Buy A House

Nintendo didn’t just dive into the open-world genre for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and do just the most bare bones of features to kick it out the door make a ton of cash, they actually put time and effort into the game’s mechanics and features. One such feature is the ability to buy and upgrade a house.

There is actually a quick guide available showcasing and directing gamers on where to go and how to own a home in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.

YouTuber BeardBear has a quick five minute video outlining the location and procedure for owning a home. You can check it out below.

So first of all, you’ll need to travel between Firly Pond and Hateno Village. That’s east of Firly Pond, and just slightly southwest of Hateno Village.

The location for the house is just within a light wooded area below a hilly incline. The location is marked in the image below.

When you reach the village, head across the bridge and talk to Bolson, the flamboyant contractor behind the house. Ask him what he’s doing and ask if you can buy the house.

He’ll firt suggest 50,000 rupees but instead will request 30 wood bundles and an additional 3,000 rupees.

Talk to Hudson until he gets up to leave. The screen will fade to black as he heads to the Zora Domain.

For additional rupees you can add upgrades to the house, including house exteriors, installations and gear displays. Simply talk to Bolson when you want to upgrade your house.

As you can see, you can purchase weapon and shield mounts for your equipment, as well as upgrade the bed, the door, and the sign-posts. It’s not quite as extensive as some of the Skyrim home improvement mods, but it’s good enough for a Zelda game.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is available right now for the Nintendo Switch and Wii U. You can either grab it digitally or from a local retailer.
