Nintendo Is Planning Big E3 2017 Event To Showcase New Switch And 3DS Content
(Last Updated On: March 26, 2017)

This year’s E3 2017 could be interesting for Nintendo because the family game company normally either skips all the major E3 conferences or holds their own digital streaming events for Nintendo Treehouse. You know, because Nintendo likes being special.

However, this year, Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime says that they will be attending E3 and will be showing off some great new content for both the Nintendo Switch and the Nintendo 3DS. This is actually good news because I had actually read a few concerns on the interwebs about people fearing the death of the 3DS now that the switch is here. Their concerns were about Nintendo possibly migrating their handheld users to the Switch and slowly dropping the 3DS, but new content for the 3DS means that Nintendo of course, plans to continue support for their handheld device by developing new games for it.

Reggie Fils-Aime had an interview with Fox News during their Fox Gamer segment, where he talked about their plans for E3.

“E3 is always a big time for Nintendo. We look at each E3 as a unique opportunity to tell our story. And we’re gonna have a big E3 this year. We’re going to be showcasing a variety of games. We will have experiences for… consumers will be able to attend the show for the very first time. So I’m not gonna tell you all of the various games and all of our little secrets for E3, but I can tell you that E3 is going to be a major opportunity for us to showcase not only Nintendo Switch, but also content coming for the Nintendo 3DS.”

You can watch the full interview from Fox Gamer linked down below, provided by YouTuber Digital Originals, where President Reggie Fils-Aime talks about his love for video games, the new innovations for the Nintendo Switch, and their big plans for E3 2017.

This year’s E3 event will take place between June 13-15, 2017, at the Los Angeles Convention Center. You can learn more by visiting the official E3 website.

Are you excited for Nintendo’s E3 event? What do you think they will be unveiling this year? Perhaps a new Metroid game? Maybe they will finally release a new FZero? He mentioned Animal Crossing in the video, so perhaps they could release a new Animal Crossing game.

They better show a new Metroid at E3.

I’m confused. Do they mean an actual press conference with an actual stage with, actual people? Not that low budget Nintendo Direct that we have been getting every year? Because he just said they will be there, he just didn’t seem to clarify how. They could just bring up a bunch of booths for the games and still make no press conference at all, just hold the usual Nintendo Direct, and that still a bummer.

Nintendo will actually show up at E3?

Is that the Grand Theft Auto font?

  • Disqusted

Probably a high chance of no Metroid.

Wait…Fox News has a Gamer segment?!

    *mind blown*

Besides that, I’m really hoping that Nintendo brings a lot of surprises to the event. They have plenty to bring to the table for fans of all kinds, I just hope that they know/remember that as well.

The part I find more surprising is that the Fox News Gaming segment starts like a YouTuber’s intro video……

They will bring alot of surprises, like all the games they held back on the Wii U and pass em off as a new concept!

I love my 3ds, and I even decked it out with decorations. I hope it is supported for a long time to come.

you’ve not been with it since March, 2011, like I have. It’s old now, time to move on, smartphones and Switch can connect to each other, I want new stuff, not stuff for a system in its 7th year that looks super crappy!
