NetherRealm Studios and Warner Bros., released a new trailer for the upcoming fighting game Injustice 2. The trailer centers in on the very sultry Poison Ivy, as she slings out her dangerous dandelions and veiny tentacles that can really whip anyone into shape (or out of it).
The trailer is only a minute and 44 seconds long, but it manages to hammer home hoe Ivy fights, what her special looks like and a few more of her barrage of botanical blight that opponents will have to deal with. You can check out the trailer below.
They at least gave Ivy a pretty good model. She actually has hips!
Her fighting is okay. I can’t really imagine Poison Ivy using Wushu xuan zi butterfly kick, yet there she is doing a butterfly kick.
Some of her othr moves look about right proper, though. She has a lot of knife-edge chops and slaps, which seems to fit with the kind of moves you might expect from Ivy. Combine those attacks in with her plant moves and poisonous combos, and you have yourself a recipe for danger.
We also get to see her pull out a little poisonous dragon that shoots projectiles for a little while from afar.
Her melee weapon is also pretty cool, using it to rack up some quick combo beats against opponents.
Her special sees her using a giant Venus flytrap to eat and chew up opponents before spitting them out and throwing them back onto the platform.
There’s also a lot of fun throwbacks to the Joel Schumacher disasterpiece that was Batman & Roman. They had Ivy facing off against Bane (they were teammates in the movie) and Ivy kissing Robin (she also did this in the movie to pit Robin against Batman). The only thing they were missing was Mr. Freeze… but sadly he didn’t make the cut (though I suspect he’ll be in as DLC).
They also released a trailer for the Scarecrow as well, which you can check out below.
I like how Scarecrow isn’t actually a giant zombie, but instead an amalgamation of horrors from the fear serum. Cool stuff.
His special, by the way, looks pretty cool. It reminds me of the one sequence featuring the Mad Hatter in Batman: Arkham Knight.
