Nightshade, Visual Novel Now Available For PC Via Steam

Folks who enjoy playing visual novels and like the story options that the genre offers will be able to find just that in  D3 Publisher, Red Entertainment and Lantern Rooms’ Nightshade. The game is now available for PC via Steam.

Nightshade didn’t release on Steam Early Access, but it’s actually fully complete and available on the actual Steam store page. The visual novel explore ninjas during the Sengoku period, in which these characters go through various trials and tribulations along a journey that players can help shape and alter along the way.

The visual novel originally released back in 2016 for the PS Vita in Japan, but now has come over to the West for fans to enjoy on their PC. The official description for the visual novel sits below.

“A romance visual novel game made in collaboration with D3P and Red Entertainment. Character design and illustrations are by the popular illustrator Teita. The romance revolves around Ninjas who have lived through the Sengoku Period.”

Without giving away key points in the story for the game, the basic premise for Nightshade sees two factions of ninjas battling for dominance. In the year 1593, Nobunaga Oda starts the Tenshō Iga war causing one of the clans to die out and merge. From here, the game explores whether or not the two clans — that were once rivals and now merged — will remain friends or still carry out their old clan rivalry.

The official trailer or opening movie for the visual novel known as Nightshade can be seen below. The video trailer comes in thanks to D3 Publisher.

Lastly, the game is said to feature two different endings for each of the five main characters depending on which route the player takes during the story. The game’s ending movie and music will change depending on the final outcome of all choices made throughout the game.

As of right now, Nightshade has a 20 percent off deal that will end on April 18th, so at the moment the game’s price is down from $34.99 to $27.99. More information on Nightshade can be found by hitting up Steam or dp3.co.jp.
