The launch trailer for Vindicta has gone live courtesy of Beirut-based game development studio, Game Cooks. The new VR title is scheduled to release this upcoming June for the HTC Vive.
I’ll be the first to say that it seems weird as heck to launch a launch trailer several months out from release. But if they don’t plan on releasing any other trailers planned for release for the game up until June, then it doesn’t really matter does it?
Anyway, Vindicta will be available at the VRLA event between April 14th and April 15th, so if you want to check it out if you’re in the area, feel free to to do so.
As for the launch trailer… you can check it out below, detailing how the upcoming first-person shooter is played and what you can expect from the VR title.
The trailer starts with a robot in an elevator and then proceeds to show some other robots dragging a body through a hallway. Meanwhile, the player-character leaps into action, dual-wielding two guns and blasting down every robot in sight.
The action is a dual-stick shooter, focused on cover-based combat.
There are a variety of weapons to wield, ranging from assault rifles and pistols, to sub-machine guns and shotguns… and even a rocket launcher.
The movement looks a little unwieldy, but that’s to be expected from a VR title.
I’m not entirely fond of the disembodied hands, but this is what we’ve come to expect from most VR titles.
The akimbo gunplay and the ability to mix-and-match weapons gives the game a bit of variety compared to some other VR FPS titles on the market.
You can look for Vindicta to launch for SteamVR compatible headsets starting this June. They’ll need to be careful not to get lost in the shuffle during this year’s E3, especially since the event is expected to be a real blockbuster powerhouse.
