Battlestar Galactica Deadlock Is Based On 2004 Syfy TV Series

There’s a new Battlestar Galactica game in the works called Deadlock. It’s the typical fight against the Cylons that the series is known for, and fans have hope that this won’t be a terrible TV tie-in game.

There’s a teaser trailer that Slitherine and Black Lab Games let loose, announcing their partnertship with Universal Brand Development. The strategy space combat game is based on the Syfy series of the same name, centered around the conflict o fthe Twelve Colonies and the original Cylon war. Beta sign-ups have also gone live for the game, enabling players to join up for the upcoming testing phase.

Paul Turbett, managing director of Black Lab Games development studio, commented about the upcoming strategy title, saying in the press release…

“Everyone at Black Lab Games is a big fan of Battlestar Galactica” […] “Our main goal is to give the vast community of fans and followers a game that is deeply rooted in the franchise’s values. We are creating a game that tells new stories, but with familiar places, events and characters. And all of it will be captured in the depth that our strategy game will offer”.

The teaser trailer focuses on a cinematic tease of what the game might be like. We get to see a destroyed battleship with debris floating in space. We see laser battles take place; we get to see a brief snippet of a dogfight, and then we get the ominous revelation that the Cylon’s won’t stop. You can check it out below.

The actual gameplay will feature 3D strategic battles, along with seeing players taking control of a Colonial fleet in order to build starfighters, manage resources and eventually overthrow the Cyclon forces.

Diplomatic war politics and command center tensions will underlie the actual battles taking place in the harsh conditions of space. There’s also real-time combat that includes a pause feature so players will be able to see all of the action unfold from any angle.

Battlestar Galactica: Deadlock will also support 4K resolutions, so you’ll be able to see every finite detail in spectacular UHD.
