Charlie Murder, Rock-Pocalypse Brawler Finally Makes Its Way To Steam

Charlie Murder from indie developer Ska Studios has finally released on Steam after it originally debuted on the Xbox 360 back in 2013. The hand-drawn title features gory-violent beat-’em-up action set within a crazy alternate rock-pocalypse universe where zombies and death metalers roam the streets.

The British-themed rock game seems to be a nod to the Gorillaz’ style artistic commentary featured in their music videos, but with a touch of Sean of the Dead. The beat-’em-up game garnered a ton of positive feedback when it came out back in 2013, but was sadly limited to the Xbox 360. Now Steam owners can get their take on the game for the low, low price of $9.99.

You can check out the game’s trailer below to get a taste of what the tattoo-wearing, chainsaw-wielding, shotgun-blasting action game is like.

It’s kind of sad, but I had always hoped that Mother Russia Bleeds was a lot closer to the likes of Charlie Murder than what it ended up being. The game was just so tame and the fighting was kind of boring compared to what I expected it to be. Charlie Murder is closer to the likes of Castle Crashers, insofar that players will have crazy combat to deal with, outrageous enemies to fight, lots of weapons to use, and plenty of blood to spill.

The added four-player cooperative gameplay should give it a bit of extra legs in the replayability department, and the team-up attacks are a good way to diversify some of the damage you can deal to enemies.

Additionally, you have single-player modes, online co-op and versus, along with local offline co-op and versus. This is pretty cool for those of you who were looking for more games like Castle Crashers or Fist Puncher.

You can pick up a digital copy of Charlie Murder $9.99 on the Steam store, or pick up a bundle pack of Ska Studios’ games for $26.15, which are currently discounted by 31% at the moment.
