Injustice 2 Overview Trailer Covers The New Multiverse Mode

NetherRealm’s 101 overview trailer for Injustice 2 is designed to give gamers a full look at the content featured in the title, from the characters to the story mode, and from the combat to the new gear system.

The trailer clocks in at five full minutes, and starts by explaining how the Justice League is in shambles, and Batman and Superman are fighting to take control of what’s left. However, leadership over the Justice League is hampered when Brainiac attacks Earth in search of recovering Kara and Clark as part of his collection. The trailer notes that depending on your decisions throughout the game it could affect the outcome of the story. I’m not entirely sure how much of an effect player choices will have, but it was an interesting part of the narration.

At the two minute mark the trailer begins to go over the gear system, and how players can outfit their favorite hero and villain in the game with various upgrades to help them out during battle. The gear system not only adds buffs and bonuses to the fighter, but they also alter the appearance of the character as well.

One of the things in the game I had no idea was present was the new Multiverse mode, where players can travel around to different worlds and complete various objectives.

The Multiverse mode is basically like an enhanced version of the Tower mode from Mortal Kombat X, where not only do you battle through to complete objectives, but you can also unlock new rewards along the way. The harder the challenge, the better the reward.

What’s more is that the Multiverse will be updated on a daily, weekly and monthly basis with new missions to complete. It’s one of those things where there will be a lot of replayability present.

And much like the faction mode in Mortal Kombat, there is also a guild mode present in Injustice 2.

The trailer also talks about the mobile app where you can unlock additional gear by playing the game and defeating opponents. I doubt many people will care too much about the mobile app, but the main console game looks like it could be a ton of fun when it releases on May 16th for the Xbox One and PS4.
