Refunct, First-Person Parkour Platformer Coming To Xbox One

Refunct originally launched back in October of 2015 for PC and Mac from indie developer Dominique Grieshofer. The game holds an overwhelmingly positive user review rating over on the Steam store. The game is now set to make its debut on the Xbox One, soon.

The announcement was accompanied by a trailer featuring just 33 seconds of gameplay footage. Refunct is a zen-like 3D platformer, where players will traverse through a dynamic world in first-person, using wall-hops, sliding, and tubes to get from one destination to the other. You can check out the gameplay trailer below to get a better idea of what it’s like.

When people said the Xbox One needed more games, I suppose they probably didn’t expect a zen platformer to make the cut. But something is better than nothing, right?

If the music really got you hooked, don’t worry, you’re not alone. In the description they note that it’s from Hyleo & Ollygon. The name of the track is “Whispy”. You can listen to the full electronic chillstep tune below.

According to Grieshofer, the game is a non-violent, relaxing, beautiful, playful, dynamic, seamless gameplay experience designed to entertain and soothe you.

These new kind of zen titles have been popping up lately and it’s a nice divergence from some of the typical twitch-reflex games out there.

There’s no release date on the trailer but the press notice says it’s set to arrive on June 7th. So you’ll be able to get your hands on the game two weeks from now on the Xbox One.

If you have no interest in the console version, the game is available on PC for only $2.99. There’s no word on if it will cost the same on console, but if it stays cheap then it’s not a bad way to add something simple and relaxing to your library, assuming you’re into games about exploring the feng shui of digital exploration.
