South Park: The Fractured But Whole Set For Release On October 17th

Ubisoft announced recently that South Park: The Fractured But Whole is set to release on October 17th, 2017 later this year during the fall for the Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC.

The announcement was accompanied by a new trailer for the game, signaling that Ubisoft is finally committing to getting this long-delayed game up and out for home consoles and PC.

I’m not entirely sure what the hold-up was or why the game was delayed for as much as it was, but hopefully things have evened out and Ubisoft will stick with the date that they’ve set in place.

As for the trailer… it’s about deadly farts. I mean, what else would you expect from a South Park trailer? Especially for a game subtitled the Fractured But Whole.

The trailer parodies news reports about neighborhood terrorists, but this time around it’s about a villain who farts on people. The farts are so deadly that they can incinerate objects, can be used as a propulsion system, and can beat a ground man into a bloody pulp.

The farts are part of the new interaction system that the designers have implemented into South Park: The Fractured But Whole.

The rest of the trailer focuses on some of the game’s more outrageous combat moments, cinematics and lots of other not safe for work moments.

The trailer then rounds out with a reminder to pre-order the game, but I mean… who really pre-orders Ubisoft games these days?

I’m a little surprised that they didn’t save the release date announcement for their E3 press conference. Perhaps they decided that it would be better spent on Far Cry 5 and The Crew 2, two of their newest games that they unceremoniously announced through a forum board post.

Anyway, you can look for South Park: The Fractured But Whole to launch this fall on Xbox One, PC and PS4 starting October 17th.
