The King Of Fighters XIV Steam PC Release Coming This May

During a recent press conference in China, some news regarding SNK’s The King of Fighters XIV  came to light revealing that the 3D modeled fighting game will be coming to PC via Steam, and the release is set to happen this May.

Catching wind from publication site Gematsu, we learn that SNK will increase The King of Fighters XIV’s lifespan by bringing it over to PC via Steam. This news was recently announced at a press conference and through a tweet on May 9th.

You do know what this means, right? Graphical overhauls, more characters, alternate costumes and appearances, characters from other games, slooty mods, animation and hit box fixes for those who like a specific fighting pace and constant thread of new content via the modding community.

In my opinion, this is a smart move by SNK, although it comes in as a no brainer given that it was kinda obvious that the game would hit PC like Guilty Gear, Blazblue and other recent fighting games.

I’m sure folks who enjoy the KOF series and play it regularly will find that it will bring more exposure to their favorite game/series and will invite new folks to the scene who have never played KOF XIV — either due to not owning a PS4 or that they have never heard of said title.

The King of Fighters XIV originally launched back in August of 2016 for PS4, and received some updates and new characters to help extend its lifespan into the future. As of now the devs will bring the fighting game to PC via Steam and will also bring along a Closed Beta for gamers to test to see how stability and performance fairs when the PC port arrives sometime soon, which will be available for pre-purchase later on this May.
