Bandai Namco Reveals Dragon Ball Fighters

Bandai Namco has revealed Dragon Ball Fighters, a new 2.5D fighting game, which is noted to be a mistake and was supposed to be revealed on June 12th during E3 2017. However, the 2.5D Dragon Ball game by Bandai  Namco and Arc System Works is set to launch sometime during 2018 across PC, PS4 and Xbox One.

Catching wind from publication site Gematsu we learn that Bandai Namco has mistakenly revealed Arc System Works’ Dragon Ball Fighters. The link to the game’s inadvertent reveal on bandainamco.co.jp does not work as of this writing, but the game is said to make an official appearance at this year’s E3, so look out for the game on June 12th.

If you want to know more about this upcoming Dragon Ball Fighters game by Arc System Works, a video by Maximilian Dood covers the latest information currently known about the fighting game, which lies below.

Dragon Ball Fighters is said to sport a 3 Vs. 3 team battle system that allows players to mix and match compatibility with other characters and form a team of fighters in a unique way. The game will also feature the well known “ultra high speed battles” and “flashy special moves” that the Dragon Ball series flaunts.

According to the publication site the producer of the project, Tomo Hiroki, wanted the game to be a 2.5D fighter instead of being a 3D fighter due to the former allowing for “some things” to be done better compared to the latter setup. The 2D looking game will bring a “broader range” of expression as the devs can use camera shifts, angles and other unique productions via the 2.5D system that is not possible in 2D setup, which sounds rather interesting.

Lastly, the publication site posted up a backup page of the press release so that folks can see the early reveal that is said to be a mistake and was supposed to turn up come June 12th. Dragon Ball Fighters is set to release sometime in 2018 across PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
