Dal Segno Will Receive Free 18+ Patch For Steam Version
Dal Segno

MangaGamer managed to meet with Valve about the content that they publish on Steam, specifically adult-oriented content that must release on Steam in a censored format. They managed to reach an arrangement where newer MangaGamer titles will be able to release on Steam in an all-ages form but then receive an additional 18+ adult patch that will be distributed through the Steam client for those who want it.

The news comes courtesy of a post over on the MangaGamer website, where they announced that those planning on purchasing D.S. -Dal Segno from Steam will be in for a treat: it will receive the coveted 18+ patch that typically has to be acquired off-site through another web portal.

They explain in the post…

“D.S. – Dal Segno’s All Ages Steam version will be receiving a free patch to implement adult content!

“We’re committed to doing right by our customers while adhering to Valve’s policies, and to that end we managed to reach an understanding with Valve regarding patches.

“Going forward it will be our general policy to provide free content patches for all Steam releases whenever possible where there are content differences between versions.”

This won’t be retroactive, though. Some games that are already available won’t be ported and censored on Steam, and then have an 18+ patch released. Instead they will adopt this policy for their games moving forward that require an all-ages version released on Steam. They can then roll out a patch that gamers can acquire to bump up the game to the adult version.

With various rules and restrictions placed on content distributors regarding adult content, it’s imperative to work within the guidelines of various regions. The U.K., for instance, wants more restrictions on adult content and how it can be accessed through search engines and content distribution platforms. So if Valve wants to avoid sanctions, they can’t make 18+ porn too easily accessible.

One thing that they don’t explain in the post is if the adult patch will contain fully uncensored, graphic content or will it still be somewhat PG-13 or pushing close to R territory?

MangaGamer doesn’t go too much in depth as to what you can expect from the adult patch, but if it’s anything like Nekopara Vol. 3, then I imagine that fans will be in for a surprise.

D.S. – Dal Segno is currently available for pre-order over on the MangaGamer website. The visual novel is set to release on June 30th at the end of the month. You can learn more by visiting the Steam store page.

  • First step for adult games on steam.

Gabe Newell said they’re working to begin allowing the implementation of adult games on steam, but he was really coy about any real details. I’m looking forward to it, because it will mean that games will no longer be killed by an AO rating.

So this is the Mary Sue, and already I hated it I’m in the mood for any retardation response from any feminist nutjobs.

I set myself up, These are the ones that try to ruin this game and many others.

edit: OMG really I just saw that comment below mine worder-woman and rose are bi since when. And yes I’m triggered lol 😂

    • Wonder Woman came out as gay whatever a while ago. There was a huge thing about it just like when Tracer was made gay.

And it was overblown. In the comics it showed she had those relationships because there were only women on the island. Since then they have shown a distinct sexual attraction to Trevor. However, they have made Dr. Minerva (Cheetah) gay and a gullible moron to boot.

Well on my steam store front it says July 1st.

And I can’t pre order it just able to put it in my wish list. https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/bbb7814316fa22cf4fbf965051908de099ed6e34edba338d393a450461ab552f.png

As for the UK restrictions that not true if it was then Nutaku and other ecchi content would not exist but since I’m from UK I can use the nutaku service.

If you ever visit it once in U.K. you are greeted by a Age gate, further more it uses real money in apps purchases and that is only gain by using debit/credit card and that means you need to be over 18 to use it.

Now I know there are people that want to censored the internet and have BBFC in charge of adult entertainment and that means nutaku could be under threat.

Edit: a update it been months now since the article about BBFC taking control over the net, what comes of that now as it gone quiet?

    • Not sure what’s become of the BBFC ruling, I’ll have to follow-up on that.

This is true, but remember that it’s kind of tough to see Nutaku stuff pop up in the search engines alongside Steam content. Steam links are usually on the very first page of Google. In fact, try searching up the general term “Panzermadels”

For me, I don’t see a Nutaku link anywhere near the first few pages. But maybe it’ll show up differently for you? Using the private browsing option it also doesn’t pop up in the first few pages either.

So Valve is likely trying to avoid suffering the same fate. It could really hurt their expansion and exposure if their links were hidden or tucked away due to being classified as “adult” links.

        • Sure that’s if you specifically search up Nutaku.

But try searching up a game on Google that’s both on Steam and Nutaku. Oftentimes you’ll only get the Steam results.

          • Alistair

Never thought of it like that so it like both titles on steam and nutaku it would favor steam for being kiddy friendly right.

          • Yep.

This is why Steam is trying hard to avoid being labeled as an adult site because they’ll get buried in the search results just like Nutaku. It’s also why we have to be careful how we present some material on this site as well, otherwise Google will bury us.
