E3 2017: Far Cry 5 Features A Wingsuit And Unlockable Stuff From 1960s, 1970s

Some new demos for Far Cry 5 have popped up, featuring some of the Fangs for Hire and the Guns for Hire gameplay. We learn about Eden’s Gate’s process of enacting the “Reaping” on the various cities within Hope County, along with some of the weapons you’ll use, some of the vehicles you’ll use, and some of the melee combat. We also learn from Dan Hay that the wingsuit is back.

We learn that Boomer the dog can help tag all of the enemies in the area. Boomer the dog can be used as a weapon as well. As you kill enemies and wipe out Eden’s Gate cult members, you can liberate the communities and cities within Hope County.

You can check out the video below from the PlayStation booth at E3.

Some cool elements worth talking about includes the enemy AI being able to revive their teammates who are downed. We see that one of the reinforcements comes to help up another teammate.

Players can also easily traverse across rooftops using a crossbow cable launcher. Additionally, buildings are fully enterable and you can even setup your attacks before you actually begin your attack.

We also learn that the wingsuit is back and there are additional items to unlock in the game world of Far Cry 5 as well. It’s discussed in the video below.

For those of you who are hearing impaired, Ubisoft Montreal creative director Dan Hay explained in the video…

“I don’t honestly know if I’m allowed to talk about the wingsuit… but you know what? Fuck it. Yes, it’s back.

“What’s cool about it is that we didn’t just put in a wingsuit, we actually built a character that’s this legendary stuntman from Montana. And when you do a lot of this stuff in the wingsuit and other stunts in the world, you’re actually paying homage to him and unlock stuff based off his personality from like the 1960s and the 1970s.”

So there you have it. You can unlock new stuff just by playing the game and pulling off stunts once you meet the wingsuit man.

Far Cry 5 is due for release in February of 2018 for the Xbox One, PS4 and PC.
