E3 2017: Ubisoft Reveals New Space Game Starlink

One of the latest games to be announced by Ubisoft at E3 comes Starlink: Battle for Atlus. The space-to-ground action game mixes the figurine feature found in Skylander with the aesthetics of No Man’s Sky to make a galaxy action exploration experience. Starlink: Battle for Atlus is set to come out during the Fall of 2018 across PS4, Xbox One and the Switch.

I’m not sure how Starlink: Battle for Atlus will be at release given that we are more than a year out from the game launching across PS4, Xbox One and the Switch. But instead of dwelling on the release of Starlink and if it will be downgraded, the official description explaining the game lies below.

“In Starlink: Battle for Atlas, you’re part of a group of heroic interstellar pilots, dedicated to free the Atlas star system from the Forgotten Legends, an evil robot force. Starlink: Battle for Atlas offers a whole new gameplay experience: build your own modular Starship model, mount it on your controller, and take part in epic space combats. Equip your model with different parts and your Starship changes in game in real time. Assemble your fleet, mix and match your pilots, Starships and weapons to create your own play style and defeat the enemy.”

Let’s look at the core features listed on Starlink’s most recent video trailer that consist of: Customization, exploration and combat.

Taking a look at customization, the game explores mixing up pilots, hulls, wings, and weapons to assemble your ideal starship. The game is said to sport an unprecedented amount of customization and creativity that affects the outcome of battles and how your ship appears in-game.

Taking some cues from No Man’s Sky insofar that you can visit a list of planets housed by gigantic galaxies; the game’s description notes that you will be able to investigate space and a wide variety of planets and their surface that contain an ecosystem, wildlife and atmosphere. Additionally, each planet is also said to evolve and change depending on your actions.

Looking over to the combat in the game, fights can be altered by weapons and ship parts, which upon stopping the evil robot force from inhabiting various planets around the galaxy or through deadly challenges can bring forth various rewards.

Below lies the official trailer for Starlink: Battle for Atlus.
