Gat From Saints Row Will Be Playable In Agents Of Mayhem

Deep Silver confirmed that Johnny Gat from Saints Row will be a playable character in Volition Software’s upcoming Agents of Mayhem, the third-person, open-world, action-adventure game due out this August for the Xbox One, PS4 and PC.

Daniel Dae Kim is also back voicing Gat, which is a huge bit of news for anyone who really loved his work throughout the other games and standalone expansion pack missions.

Gat, in the world of Agents of Mayhem, follows the story thread after the events of Gat out of Hell, the standalone DLC expansion for Saints Row IV. Gat was able to reset the Saints’ universe and managed to end back up in Seoul, South Korea, which is where the events of Agents of Mayhem takes place.

Gat, however, grows up to become a cop instead of a gangster, but ends up in a coma and wakes up only to find that the rest of the police force have been replaced with robots. As a reckless police officer out for revenge, Gat will have to fight the robots and the evil that plagues Seoul… but mostly the robots because he hates robots for some reason.

Now before you get your hopes up too high, you’ll have to settle for knowing that Gat is not freely playable in Agents of Mayhem. The character is a special pre-order bonus for those who commit to a purchase before the game releases.

This is very disappointing news for people who were hoping there was a redeeming quality about Agents of Mayhem that didn’t include pre-order bonus DLC.

On the upside, Gat’s alternate universe story reminds me a lot of Sleeping Dogs. On the downside, you’ll have to commit to a very mediocre looking Agents of Mayhem in order to play Gat, who has his own story missions, his own person missions, his own personal weapon skins, vehicle and character skins.

The pre-order bonus also includes additional skins for some of the other cast of characters as well.

A trailer was oddly not included with the news but I’m sure it’ll be arriving soon enough featuring the foul-mouthed gangster from the purple-themed open-world action game.

Agents of Mayhem is due for release on August 15th for the Xbox One, PS4 and PC.
