Middle-Earth: Shadow Of War Delayed To October 10th, 2017

Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and Monolith Productions announced that Middle-Earth: Shadow of War will now launch on October 10th, 2017 instead of in August. The delay happens for PC, PS4 and Xbox One outings.

The news comes courtesy of a post over on the WB Games website, where community manager Andy posted the following…

“Monolith is committed to delivering the highest quality experience. In order to do this, we have made the difficult decision to move our launch date to ensure that Middle-earth: Shadow of War will deliver on that promise.”

The post also mentions that Middle-Earth: Shadow of War will have a separate release date for those living in New Zealand, Japan and Australia.

The delay isn’t that bad to be honest. It’s an extra two months. Likely to help iron out some of the bugs and glitches before release. In this day and age, having more time to squash bugs and fix glitches is a rarity, so hopefully that’s what they’re doing.

The game essentially takes everything from the original Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor and amplifies it by a little bit. More weapons, more towers to take down, more Orcs to kill, more Orcs to recruit, more skills to unlock and more rivalries to encounter thanks to an upgraded Nemesis 2.0 system.

Warner Bros., originally ran into a bit of federal trouble with the Federal Trade Commission over the first Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor due to a promotional clause that they put on YouTubers when it came to promoting the game and the lack of disclosure that the contract that the branding company, Plaid Social, had the YouTubers sign. We’ll see if they’ll stay on the straight and narrow leading up to release for Shadow of War now that they have the FTC and #GamerGate cloud firmly behind them.

You can now look for the medieval high-fantasy action-RPG to launch on October 10th for the Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC.
