Pokemon Nintendo Direct Update Reveals Pokken Tournament DX For Switch

Pokemon fans have a lot to look forward to in terms of games and information as of 2017 thanks to the recent Pokemon Direct event. The event revealed Pokken Tournament DX for the Switch, Pokemon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon for 3DS, and Pokemon Gold and Silver for the 3DS virtual console A.K.A. the eShop.

Not too long ago, Nintendo hosted an eight minute long Nintendo Direct event that featured Pokemon related news. As one would expect the event kicked-off on June 6th, at 7:00 A.M. PT / 10:00 A.M. PT / 3:00 P.M. UK time, which included a list of Pokemon games.

Pokken Tournament DX

Nintendo and the Pokemon Company have announced Pokken Tournament DX for the Switch, in which the game is set to launch on September 22nd. Additionally, Nintendo has added Pokken Tournament DX to its E3 2017 lineup and will showcase the game come June 14th at 10:30 A.M. PT. Pokemon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon

I’m sure you’ve witnessed the reveal of Pokemon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon for 3DS at the end of the Pokken Tournament DX trailer, right? Well, if you happened to miss the segment in the above video showing said game, the Pokemon Direct end segment should help correct that by viewing the video at the 36:39 mark.

It’s worth noting that Nintendo, The Pokemon Company, and Game Freak have announced Pokemon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon for 3DS worldwide come November 17th, 2017. The new iterations of Sun and Moon offer an alternate story with new features and, of course, new Pokemon.

Pokemon Gold and Silver

Nintendo also revealed that Pokemon Gold and Pokemon Silver will be coming to the 3DS Virtual Console or through the Nintendo eShop on September 22nd. Both titles (Gold and Silver) will be compatible with the Pokemon Bank.

Lastly, Pokken Tournament DX for the Switch is set to launch on September 22nd, while Pokemon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon for 3DS is set to drop worldwide come November 17th, and Pokemon Gold and Pokemon Silver will hit the 3DS Virtual Console (or Nintendo eShop) on September 22nd.

    Be honest:

    Were you hold out some glimmer of hope that they were gonna announce something such as Pokemon Stadium 3 or a new Pokemon built specifically for the Switch (something like Colosseum or Gale of Darkness)?

    • I think a lot of people held out hope for that. Sadly, they were given Pokken Tournament.

      Not going to happen this year, maybe not even the next one. There’s overwhelmingly more 3DS devices out there than Nintendo Switches. It’s happened the same way with the DS Pokémon games.

      Plus, development for it is likely to have started this year and you know these games are taking a longer time to develop.
