Revolt Trailer Depicts A Movie About Humans Fleeing Alien Vaporizers

What’s worse than alien invaders? Alien invaders who don’t pay taxes. And what’s worse than alien invaders who don’t pay taxes? Alien invaders who don’t pay taxes while driving up taxes to compensate for those who don’t pay. And what’s worse than alien invaders funking up taxes for everybody? Aliens who will freaking vaporize you because you have the gall to throw a rock at them after you get pissed off about the tax hikes.

In the movie Revolt the aliens illegally invade everywhere and they not only make taxes an issue due to all the property damage and infrastructure deconstruction, but they also make life a little (or a lot) less pleasant when they start vaporizing people who decide to fight back.

The movie is a bit like Starship Troopers meets War of the Worlds. You can check out the trailer below courtesy of New Trailer Buzz.

The movie stars Lee Pace and Bérénice Marlohe, who looks a lot like Moon Bloodgood in the movie. Pace takes on the role of a soldier who ends up injured after fighting the aliens and wakes up in a world where humans are on the run and civilization has been decimated by the alien invaders.

Civilians are killed seemingly just for interacting with the orb-aliens who seem more machine than organic. They have a giant glowing orb in their center that allows some of them to be destroyed. There are other aliens who seem to have no weakness.

The movie seems like a bit of a travel flick combined with being a typical alien invasion action film. I can’t help but feel as if this movie is like an amalgamation of Terminator: Salvation fused with Lost Planet and a hint of Skyline.

The movie could easily go one way or the other. The effects don’t look bad and the vaporization gimmick could work out, but obviously the trailer showcases some elements the hero complex where it looks like Lee should have been vaporized but wasn’t.
