Serial Cleaner Graduates From Early Access On July 14th

Curve Digital and iFun4All’s Serial Cleaner may have missed out on the Steam Summer Sale, but discounts aside the game will be arriving in full on Steam starting July 14th. The game is currently available for $14.99 during Early Access and it will go up in price when it launches in the middle of next month, so you’ll definitely want to consider purchasing it now before the price gets hiked. Assuming you have an interest in a game about being a clean-up man for a serial killer/hitman.

Indie games have really gone far off the beaten path when it comes to exploring different themes and topics that most AA and AAA outfits wouldn’t touch with a 10-foot long selfie stick. In this particular case, Serial Cleaner sees players having to stealthily clean up crime scenes before the cops get there; disposing of bodies, wiping up blood, removing evidence and escaping from the scene unnoticed.

If it sounds kind of morbid that’s because it is.

A new live-action trailer was released to highlight some of the gameplay mechanics and a few of the 20 different levels you’ll experience along the way.

The whole grindhouse vibe seems to fit the theme of the game, even though it’s a lot more fast-paced than what the live-action trailer let on.

Players will have to work fast, clean up the scenes and escape from the area undetected. I was kind of hoping for something a little closer to Viscera Cleanup Detail, which is a bit more methodical and zen-like. I don’t think a zen atmosphere would work well for Serial Cleaner but something a little more slower paced seemed like it might contributed to extra tension and thrills. But then again that’s just based on the trailers, I’m sure players will each have their own play-style for the game when the time comes.

Serial Cleaner is inspired by movies like Fargo and Pulp Fiction and relishes heavily in the 1970s grindhouse motif. You can learn more about the game by visiting the Steam store page or waiting for it to release on PC starting July 14th. If you’re more of a console gamer you can check out the title come November 11th.
