Chun-Li’s Face Will Be Fixed With Marvel Vs Capcom: Infinite Day-1 Patch

A lot of people have complained about Chun-Li’s face, Dante’s face, and other characters in the upcoming Marvel vs Capcom: Infinite. The Capcom side for sure has a lot of fugly looking characters, and it’s something that has been an inescapable truism since video footage of the game first released to the public. Well, apparently Capcom will have a day-one patch ready to improve the art assets in the game for home consoles and PC.

Shoryuken is reporting that during a panel at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con, Capcom producer Yoshinori Ono revealed that they will be addressing the aesthetic concerns that were raised about Marvel vs Capcom: Infinite.

More specifically, there will be “art fixes” coming as a “day one” patch.

For those of you who aren’t in the know, Eric Ha Gaming gives a quick rundown of how bad Chun-Li’s face looks.

Chun-Li wasn’t the only one who was beaten with the proverbial “ugly stick”. A lot of fangirls, fanboys, and fans in general of Dante from Devil’s May Cry also noticed that he had undergone some rather unfortunate aesthetic changes, resulting in him looking very far removed from his devilishly handsome looks that he used to sport between Devil May Cry 1 and Devil May Cry 4. The comment section on Shoryuken are rightfully annoyed that Capcom would release an art fix as a day one patch instead of just pushing back the release of the game and making sure the game is top notch from top to bottom, and this way you don’t need a day-one patch to fix something as essential as the character faces in a fighting game.

Some people argued that it’s all about the deadlines and certification and that these days they have to release these updates as day-one patches instead of finishing the game and releasing it right proper the first time around. Others retorted that back in the 16-bit era there were no day-one patches and if they could release quality games back then why can’t they now?

Anyway, Marvel vs Capcom: Infinite is due for release on September 19th for PS4, Xbox One and PC.
