Gorn, Gore-Porn VR Hack-and-Slash Title Enters Early Access
Gorn

South African game developer Free Lives, garnering fame for having made highly controversial games like Genital Jousting and Broforce, has announced in collaboration with Devolver Digital that Gorn, a gore-porn battle arena game, has officially entered into Early Access on Steam.

The game will be discounted in Early Access during its first week on Steam by up to 25% off the normal price. The discount will last up until July 17th next week.

Devolver Digital CFO Fork Parker (brilliant name, by the way) mentioned in the press release…

“While many have had their doubts about the future viability of VR and its potential contributions to society it is worth noting that in GORN you can rip off an opponent’s arm and then beat them with said arm until their head caves in,”

That’s not even hyperbole. You can actually do just what Parker mentioned. Don’t take Parker’s word (or mine) for it, just watch the trailer below and see it for yourself.

Okay, first of all… why the heck didn’t someone vacuum clean that reclining automon? That’s like asking for a butt full of ants.

Anyway, the actual gameplay is a visceral romp through a gladiatorial arena filled with muscle-bound beefcakes who are there to do nothing but pleasure your sense for gruesome violence, and the gory aftermath of weapon-based dismemberment and unbridled mutilation.

The juxtaposition of the real-life carnage being doled out in the room versus the bloody aftermath of the barbarians getting their heads wrecked is great.

Also that was a brilliant cutaway between the television getting impaled and the dude having his heart removed from his chest with that guisame polearm.

The fighting looks smooth, tactical and violent, and if the impacts and reactions are as solid and as reactive as they appear in the trailer, then Gorn could provide HTC Vive users with one wild ride.

You can check the game out right now over on Steam store for $19.99.
