Horizon: Zero Dawn New Game Plus Added With Patch 1.30
Horizon Zero Dawn
(Last Updated On: July 7, 2017)

The New Game+, Ultra Hard difficulty, new trophies, and new gear slots have all been added to Horizon: Zero Dawn in patch 1.30, which is currently available for those who own the PlayStation 4 exclusive.

The news rolled out over on the PlayStation Blog for those who missed it, or for those who have yet to boot up their PS4 and let the game auto-update. There’s still a level cap of 50 in place, but they mention that you can still earn XP for your adventures.

Additionally there’s the opportunity to spend some shards on armor and weapons for Aloy and it will enable her to access more abilities out of her gear.

Horizon Zero Dawn Patch 1.30

One thing they mention is that if you decide to start New Game+ on Ultra Hard, you won’t be able to down-scale midway through the adventure, so be sure to pack plenty of berries and say your prayers before you head into battle against a thunderjaw.

In addition to the new unlockable content and customization features for the weapons and gear, there’s also the new face paint that can be applied to Aloy, giving her different tribal looks to match her attire.

Additional fixes have also been implemented to further iron out and optimize the gameplay experience.

Horizon Zero Dawn Patch 1.30

All of these features arrive ahead of the upcoming release of The Frozen Wilds, which is due to release for Horizon: Zero Dawn, adding an all new location for Aloy to visit, new robosaurs for her to battle, and presumably new gear to collect.

Some people thoroughly enjoyed the game while others were a bit miffed at the latent feminist tones sprinkled throughout the story, especially leading up toward the end. Some people simply liked fighting the robosaurs while others found the combat a bit boring and trite. If you’re not into open-world adventures you probably won’t like Horizon, and if you’re not into subversive third-wave feminist messaging, you might also find yourself a bit at odds with the game.

Nevertheless, Horizon: Zero Dawn is available right now, exclusively for the PlayStation 4.

I was going to save this for the next open discussion but this looks like a good opportunity to post this

    https://www.reddit.com/r/KotakuInAction/comments/6l0xhe/opinion_my_experience_with_horizon_zero_dawn_a/

From what I read of this it was seen as a feminazi propaganda game because some stupid dickhead jurnos were harping on about how feminist it was just because it had a female protagonist

    • Disqusted

The devs spent a decent amount of their interview time going on about story and I think they emphasized how strong a female Tintin is.

    • It bothers me how hard this game is shilled as “Nuh uh, no SJW politics here!”

Either people have drunk so much Socjus nut juice that they’ve just become accepting of it, or they’re being willfully dense.

I think a lot of people are trying really hard to convince themselves that SocJus stuff isn’t in games even when it is, because they want to pretend that it’s not there to subvert their own beliefs or it’s there to reinforce their beliefs.

Horizon’s SJWism is exposed quite blatantly and clearly once it’s compared to a game like Nier. How the characterizations are handled and how the stories unfold are quite evident of that.

      • Yeah, I was just reading the comments section of the Feminazi: Zero Dawn vs Nier Automata article you wrote 4 months ago (good article by the way).

It was quite funny seeing the idiots (most likely SJWs in disguise) adopting the neutral stance and trying their hardest to make it out as if there are absolutely no SJW/feminist political messages in the game. Also funny was the moron who tried to turn the argument into an issue about fan-service in order to s*it on male gamers.

Horizon Zero Dawn is a high quality game. Shame it’s ruined by the blatant SJW/feminist pandering.

I dunno about the high-quality part. General impression I get from everybody is it’s okay or above average, but has a lot of issues that they expect to be fixed in the sequel. If it gets one.

I heard the human AI is god awful and the weapon/trap balance/incentive isn’t great. I heard the story doesn’t go anywhere until the end, where they just suddenly dump it on you all at once.

People say it’s a pretty game, but I also hear a lot of the animations look stiff, and lip sync is bad. These all sound like things they should have been focusing on, instead of trying to suck Soros’s dick.

Anyway, I’m not going to touch any game where all the devs can harp on about is the “progressive” story. It’s clear their priorities are lying in the wrong man’s pants.

          • I was talking about the level/budget of development that went into the game.

          • how ya doin?

Human A.I. is stupid in stealth but it isn’t downright terrible. Where in the hell have you been listening to this stuff? Lip syncing is far from terrible or bad. I’ve seen the lips always move and are on point when speaking. Weapons are fantastic and give you a few variety of bows, slingshots, traps, Ropecasters, etc. Plenty of weapons to take your enemies out. Animations are far from stiff in gameplay and cutscenes. Again, I don’t know where you heard this crap from but it is just complete BS. Story picks right up as you reach Meridian (Yes I edited here if you were confused). The machines in this game are just amazing to see and just fight such as the Thunder Jaw and the Storm Bird(Hell they’re even amazing to watch fighting each other).

The things I can tell you that are bad is the graphics of the water, the effects of water is downright awful at times and sometimes it doesn’t act up when you’re in it. The lack of interactivity and small details such as foliage not reacting to Aloy (except for the tall grass), Aloy not getting wet when going in the water(although she does try to dry herself up by shaking her arms), most of the time when walking in the snow, the snow doesn’t interact with her but somehow there is dirt that comes out. One more negative I HAVE TO MENTION is that you can ONLY climb specific ledges which is such an absolute annoyance in this game.

TL;DR The game is fantastic in gameplay, story, graphics but interactivity, little details and only being able to climb specific ledges need serious work.

Rent the game or buy it used from GameStop(you have 7 days to return it if you like), give it a shot and make your own opinion

If the game looked so tempting I guess they would subconsciously block out the SJW elements so they can enjoy it with out feeling guilty for playing an SJW infested game

        • I think you hit the nail on head here.

For the most part, if people want to play a game with SJW elements then play it. I know some people might see that as supporting the enemy, but I find it disingenuous when some of these people are desperately trying to convince others that some media properties don’t have SJWism in it.

For instance, this debate about Horizon and feminism constantly keeps popping up over on GameFaqs. Someone will ask “Does this game have SJWism in it?” and some white knights will quickly come in and go “No, it’s just MRAs who hate this game. Don’t listen to them.”

A few pages later and someone else who finished the game chimes in and finally goes “OP, the game does have SJWism in it. It’s not overt but it’s definitely there.” and then the white knights resort to the whole “if you don’t like this game you’re sexist” routine.

          • GodBowser

That line about desperately trying to convince others made me wonder if a friend who played the game gives you a copy as a birthday/christmas present because they think that you might enjoy it as much as they did may be the ultimate form of trying to convince you to play it

I know it sounds far fetched and it may never happen

          • Disqusted

When gaming went mainstream, I noticed a lot of Western people’s opinions being heavily swayed by social pressure. Wasn’t an issue before because gaming in the West was more niche.

Now people don’t want to admit a game is bad if they hyped it up with their friends, to avoid looking gullible. I think this starts a chain reaction that tricks others into buying it, and they all delude themselves into believing it’s not shit, just so they don’t have to feel duped.

I think “progressive” bullshit works similarly. They want to look like good little Soros puppets, so they jump at any opportunity to desperately suck what remains of his cock and white knight the hell out of any SJW propaganda. They’re afraid of being ridiculed as woman-haters or racists if they don’t.

The mainstream and supplanted academia successfully hammered such a bullshit narrative into Western society. Gonna take a long time to undo the brainwashing. Assuming death isn’t the only cure. Some people like Ian Miles Cheong woke up. Others don’t seem to be capable of doing so.

Anyone who uses MRA in a dismissive context is clearly a misandrist Soros puppet.

They’re either gullible enough to believe the ultra biased one-sided mainstream media constant smear campaign against MRA, or they seriously believe that males do not deserve basic human rights.

And anyone who denies that something bad is shit just because it has a female character has no sense of quality, no taste, and no shame.

I have two friends from Canada and Sweden who didn’t have any problems with the SJW stuff. Figures, though. Soros has a pretty tight grip on those two countries. I’m sure they see it as the norm. They don’t particularly like or care about SJW stuff though, unlike the California guy that I had to stop talking to.

It’s depressing being one of the few sane left in an increasingly brainwashed world of nonsensical delusion.

  • Disqusted

Not a fan of these “new game plus added months later” updates/DLC.

    • Same here. Like, who’s going to go back to a game six months later and play New Game+? You’re out of shape, out of sync with the timing, you’ve already lost your edge… and then they go out and pull you right back in. It’s like John McClane in Die Hard 4.0.

      • Disqusted

Yeah, and it also seems like something they could easily include with the original purchase.

      • Cinj

Not to mention other games have come out since then and are now occupying your time. And you have a sizeable backlog and can’t see the point in retreading old ground. Etcetera, etcetera.

      • how ya doin?

I would. There is a new difficulty they have added and new variation of weapons(and no not new weapons).
