Tekken 7 DLC Trailer Reveals Geese Howard From Fatal Fury

Katsuhiro Harada has really been working hard for Bandai Namco, making connections and bringing in top characters from other franchises to appear in the Tekken 7 universe. After securing Akuma from Street Fighter (and portraying him better in the short amount of screen time he received in the story mode than any of Capcom’s titles), Harada is now going to give Tekken 7 some Fatal Fury treatment by adding Southtown boss Geese Howard to the character stable.

The announcement for Geese appearing in Tekken 7 came during this year’s EVO 2017 event, where a number of other announcements were also made. You can check out the official trailer below, featuring Geese making his debut in the King of the Iron Fist Tournament.

The trailer features Geese taking the fight to Heihachi, which obviously takes place before the end events of the game’s main story mode.

First off, Geese looks really good here. His model perfectly captures the towering and domineering gait that he’s usually given in SNK’s Fatal Fury and King of Fighters games.

The compilation featuring Geese using his signature catch-and-throw counter is great. He doesn’t really come across as much of a boss character here as he did in the Fatal Fury and King of Fighters games. However, his inside-to-out crescent axe kick looks gorgeous and his spinning inside to out heel-kick also translated really well from 2D to 3D.

His special move also looks really good here in Tekken 7. Namco clearly shows that they’re outclassing both Capcom and SNK in the visuals department when it comes to fighting games. It’s funny because both Tekken 7 and Street Fighter V are both running on the Unreal Engine 4, but you probably never would have guessed that. The reaction he received at this year’s EVO was insane. Check out the video below that Harada shared.

Geese is set to appear as the next DLC character starting later this year during the winter on Xbox One, PS4 and PC.
