The Sim 4 Xbox One, PS4 Release Date Set For November 17th

Electronic Arts announced that The Sims 4 will finally make its way to home consoles after it originally appeared on PC back in 2014. The game was no stranger to controversy when it was first announced, lacking commonplace fixtures that were present in previous outings, such as toddlers and pools. After enough of a public backlash, EA and Maxis eventually included the missing features as part of the free update for the game. Thankfully, console gamers won’t have to deal with those sort of missing features when The Sims 4 launches on November 17th this upcoming holiday season.

According to executive producer, Lyndsay Pearson, the game will feature all of the base content from the PC version along with the new additional updates and periodical upgrades, mentioning in the press release…

“The addition of a console-version of The Sims 4 has been long-awaited by fans and newcomers alike, and we at Maxis are beyond excited to bring The Sims to new platforms,”

“The game delivers a beautiful The Sims experience on console and comes packed with tons of the fan-favourite content, so players can look forward to the unique gameplay, self-expression, and fun that have come to be tentpoles of The Sims brand. The possibilities to play with life are as endless as the players’ creativity.”

Blind Squirrel Games will be working on the port for the PS4 and Xbox One versions of the game, and they’re already selling pre-order bonuses, including the Perfect Patio Stuff back, and a Deluxe Party Edition for the PS4 that grants you early access to the game three days ahead of the November 17th launch. The Deluxe Party Edition also comes with the Flaming Tiki, additional costumes, and silly animal hats.

The Sims on home consoles was always a second tier option to playing on PC. You also miss out on all the user mods and I doubt EA will add that option in there for PS4 or Xbox One users. Anyway, you can look for The Sims 4 to go live this November for the PS4 and Xbox One.
