Battle Splash 2.0, Water Gun Team-Shooter Preps For Early Access

Dranya Studio has been working on the game Trianga’s Project: Battle Splash 2.0 for the last five years. The game is a third-person team shooter designed to give players the ability to load up their water gun and attempt to douse their opponents with water in order to secure a victory.

The lead developer on the project has announced that there’s a closed beta currently taking place, and that the game is prepping to fully enter into Steam’s Early Access phase soon.

Gameplay consists of entering into an augmented reality battle arena, where players will have high-powered water rifles and water balloons at their disposal. The objective is to take out the other teams and win the round.

There are four different female character classes to play, and each map supports up to 24 players or AI opponents. It’s a lot like Marvelous’ Senran Kagura: Peach Beach Splash. You can check out a cinematic for Battle Splash 2.0 below.

One of the key highlights of the game is that no one dies. There’s no blood, and no gore. It’s also designed for kids of all ages.

If you get wet you can run around the map to dry off. Additionally, the game uses “splash” physics, so you can throw a water balloon at an object and the splash from the water can still hit opponents. This makes for a very different kind of play experience than what you might find in typical first or third-person shooters.

The full thing is also expected to support mods, but according to the developer it may take a while to implement that feature. There’s no time frame on how long Trianga’s Project: Battle Splash 2.0 will stay in Early Access, but it sounds like it’s going to spend a good amount of time in there until it’s perfected.

You can keep an eye on the Steam Early Access page for when the official release date arrives.
