Cylinder Studios wants to change the image of sand-box block games and is doing so with a poor man’s GTA V through Broke Protocol: Online City RPG. Dealing drugs, breaking others out of prison, and committing various crimes is more than present in the upcoming MMO that is set to hit Steam Early Access on August 26th.
There are a lot of games that rock the block look, and most are first-person shooter military sims, zombie games, or on the line of Minecraft. Well, Cylinder Studios’ Broke Protocol: Online City RPG is more like a low-polygon version of GTA V without a story mode.
“Become the Most Successful (or Most Wanted) man in the city. Broke Protocol is like a low-poly GTA Online with a strong focus on roleplaying features. You define your own goals and identity in a persistent, interactive, and reactive online sandbox. Currently in Early Access.”
Broke Protocol: Online City RPG features a status system that slowly depletes over time, meaning that eating, drinking and taking care of your health is important. However, this very system can be exploited by taking and selling drugs, creating weapon routes for money, and performing heists to survive.
In addition to gameplay features, you can strive to be a business worker or take up other jobs in a world that can be filled up to 255 players. The world around you and other players will continuously expand with cities, suburbs, markets, prisons, airports and other locations to be discovered.
If you happen to admire the block look and the freedom to run around and do whatever in this game, the good news is that the early version will be playable tomorrow as of this writing.
