Citadel Forged With Fire Guide: Here’s How To Tame Animals

Blue Isle Studios and Virtual Basement’s Citadel: Forged with Fire is out now for PC. However if you happen to be looking to tame animals in the game and don’t know how, hopefully this guide will be something you find helpful.

Notice: Citadel: Forged with Fire is currently in its Early Access phase on Steam meaning that the game is prone to change and could render some of the methods suggested below obsolete. However, seeing that there are few guides on taming, hopefully this guide proves to be helpful while Citadel: Forged with Fire is in its Early Access phase.

Upon starting a game and entering the world of Citadel: Forged with Fire as a newcomer, like many other games, you’ll notice that you can tame creatures from around the game world.

The only way to unlock the “taming” function is to learn a spell called Pacify. The skill can be utilized at level 10 to tame creatures, however it costs a lot of mana to cast and you will need to continuously cast it on an animal for it to work properly. Once a creature’s portrait turns blue you will then be able to tame it.

It is worth noting that scrolls can be stacked and extended to add more “taming time” to the creature under your dominion. Seeing how an animal can be tamed for 30 minutes to two hours, you can use binding scrolls to create a permanent taming cycle upon keeping an eye on how much time the animal/creature has left before it returns back to its natural behavior.

Furthermore, certain creatures can be mounted depending on your level and whether or not you posses a saddle. To unlock a saddle, say for something like a dragon or wyvern, you will need to reach level 15 so that you can place a saddle on the tamed creature.

Below is a taming video guide by DirtyPanda that shows how to do part of the aforesaid.

Citadel: Forged with Fire is out now for PC via Steam Early Access and runs for $24.99.
