The Weekly Jump reveals that there will be new characters in Bandai Namco and Arc System Works’ Dragon Ball FighterZ, specifically four. The fighting game set in the DBZ universe will hit PC, PS4, and Xbox One in early 2018.
If you have no idea what Dragon Ball FighterZ has to offer at its core, the official PlayStation video that was posted two days ago, and showcased at E3 2017, is up for you to look over.
Following the trailer comes the latest issue of Weekly Jump that publication site ShonenGameZ translated, revealing Super Saiyan Blue Goku and Super Saiyan Blue Vegeta as playable fighters in Dragon Ball FighterZ. Additionally, Android 16 and Android 18 make a playable appearance in the latest issue, too.
The four characters join the existing roster of nine playable fighters that now equates to 13, although two of the four are duplicate characters. The existing nine stand to be Goku, Vegeta, Gohan, Cell, Frieza, Majin Buu, Trunks, Krillin, and Piccolo.
As explained above, Super Saiyan Blue Goku can use “10x god Kamehameha,” while Super Saiyan Blue Vegeta can use “Final Flash Attack.” Android 16 can use “Hell’s Flash” at its maximum output, while Android 18 can use “Accel Dance,” which is a combination attack that calls Android 17 in to assist her.
Furthermore, the publication site notes that the game will have a story mode involving a revived Android 16 where “super warriors fall one by one.” The new story will bring unexpected events for “Goku and friends” depicted in “high-end animation.” There’s no telling how the actual story will play out only until the game hits the market for consumption.
The last translated piece of information comes 3 Vs. 3 online matches with different players controlling each fighter that can be switch out in real-time. It’ll be interesting to see this game and its features in action, and if you want an early taste of DBF, registration for a closed beta will begin on August 22nd and will kick-off from September 16th to September 18th.
Dragon Ball FighterZ is due for an early 2018 release and will hit PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
