Mashinky, Train Simulator Now Set To Hit Steam Early Access

Train simulators can be very popular if done right, and it seems that Jan Zeleny’s Mashinky is shaping up to be a hit given its steam-roll though Greenlight and the awards it gathered so far. Mashinky has appeared on the Steam Early Access coming soon page and when it launches it will offer a variety of train sim content.

The indie game has been awarded and nominated five times and it hasn’t even released yet. First featured on the now deceased Steam Greenlight comes Jan Zeleny’s Mashinky. It is now headed to Steam Early Access. The train sim mixes “realistic” graphics with an isometric editor mode for precise construction.

More information explaining the upcoming train sim is further explained as followed:

“Mashinky is a transport strategy game about trains. The goal is to create your own transport empire on a procedurally generated map. It’s a unique blend of realistic graphics combined with an isometric construction mode and board game-like rules.”

What I assume to be a one-man-army project doesn’t look all that bad, the overall concept and design seems well made and hopefully gameplay lives up to all of the awards it has received over the course of its time during development. But you can be the judge of that by viewing Mashinky’s “Features trailer” that shows what the game has to offer.

There’s no word on whether there will be mod support or not but hopefully there will be, especially seeing that mods help out other simulators greatly. It would only be fitting if the same were to be done with this game.

As of now, the release date for Mashinky hasn’t been set and will likely be revealed by the dev sometime in the near future given that the game recently landed on Steam’s coming soon page. Until then, more information on this very project can be found over on mashinky.com.
