Masquerada Launches On PS4, Nintendo Switch Version Coming Soon

Ysbryd Games and Witching Hour Studios announced that isometric RPG Masquerada: Songs and Shadows is currently available for the PlayStation 4 and is coming soon for the Nintendo Switch and Xbox One.

The RPG is currently available right now on PS4, and will launch later this month on August 23rd for the Xbox One. So if you’re on Xbox you won’t have to wait long after the PS4 launch to get your hands on it. The press release doesn’t exactly indicate when the Nintendo Switch version will launch, but it appears to be “soon”. They simply mention that the exact release date will be announced later.

It’s kind of hard to get a handle on Masquerada’s story from the trailers, but it centers unrest amongst citizens as a conspiracy crops up involving an interconnected plot that threatens the whole city-state. Ian Gregory, the creative director at the Witching Hour explained in the press release…

“The mysteries that Cicero and his friends unearth are all interconnected with the greater mysteries of the setting and social issues of the city-state in which they live,” “We’ve crafted something really special and are glad to bring it to a new audience.”

There’s a launch trailer below to help fill in some of the gaps involving the gameplay and characters, along with the frantic combat system. You can check it out below.

The game is available for $19.99. There are a few of the usual suspects providing voices for the characters, including Felicia Day, Ashly Burch, Matt Mercer, Jennifer Hale and Dave Fennoy.

The Switch version will feature everything the other console versions have, along with a new Game+, and some other additional changes to the characteristics of the playable party members to help increase the replayability.

It’s tough to really get a handle on what the game is like from the promo material, but user reviews will be the real tell-tale sign once they start flowing in for PC and PS4.
